Leslie & Logan’s wedding at The Chapel at the Waters in Pike Road, AL was one of those days that just makes you smile. These two were the definition of a couple in love..and Leslie was the most gorgeous blushing bride!
I got the call that they needed a wedding videographer in early January, and had the chance to meet L & L (and Leslie’s sweet Momma) at Milky Moos in Ozark the week before their big day. I knew just from our short conversation there that these two were going to be so precious to be around on their wedding day. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait too long until their day! The morning of January 28 started out foggy, but quickly turned into the most beautiful blue sky’d day I’ve ever seen. While it was a bit chilly, the bride and groom & their bridal party toughed out the chill to take portraits & video…and it turned out beautifully!
Meet Leslie & Logan
L & L met at a pageant when she was in the 7th grade and Logan was in the 9th grade. At our Milky Moos date, they explained that after a bit of nudging from friends, they decided to date…and the rest is (wedded) history. :)
Leslie said “Logan and I knew we were going to get married the first night I met his parents. We talked about getting married at The Waters and my mom asked me if I wanted to go up and see the venue one Sunday afternoon to show it to my dad before hunting season started. That Sunday night we were supposed to go eat with Logan's family because his dads birthday was the day before... needless to say, I did not want to go to Montgomery because I knew I was going to be rushed for time. Logan convinced me to go with my parents to look at the venue because he was "moving dugouts at the baseball field.”” He then proposed to her on the dock overlooking the lake! So sweet!
The Big Day
If you can’t tell by Leslie’s timeless and classy dress (from Ivory and White in Birmingham) and Logan’s classic suit (from Yancey Parker’s in Enterprise) these two were a picture of wedding tradition. They chose to wait to see each other until the ceremony, and so it was very important for me to be there to capture their mornings as they got ready, so they could see how it went for each other later on.
While the guys hung out around the back of a truck bed, sipping out of red solo cups and eating from a cooler (gotta love those southern boys) the bridesmaids ooh’d and aah’d over Leslie’s demure dress and blue suede heels.
I also want to mention that these two families absolutely understood & exemplified the idea of a wedding joining two families into one..not only in the organization of the day but just in the way the Peters and Dunlaps interacted. It was so sweet to watch!
The flowers decorating the chapel and the bride’s bouquet were a mix of greenery and ivory, from eucalyptus leaves and soft roses. I especially loved the tree cake stand the couple chose for the groom’s cake table decoration, and Leslie told me that “My Uncle Keith and Aunt Beverly handmade a decorative stand from a cedar tree they cut down. It was given to me at my first bridal shower.” Also, Logan sanded and painted the table that the couple’s cake was placed on. How sweet is that?
If Logan’s craftiness didn’t impress, Leslie’s beautiful, hand-painted globe with the bible verse "Where you go, I will go." Ruth 1:16 on it was used for the guests to sign for the guest book. Leslie, if real estate doesn't work out, I’m pretty sure you have a future in selling those beautiful globes! Just gorgeous.
Dear Leslie & Logan,
Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of y’all’s big day! I loved getting to know you guys and am praying for the Lord’s continued blessings on your marriage. Your families are the sweetest, and I know they will support y’all throughout the next 50+ years you have together. I hope you two enjoy your wedding film, it was my pleasure to create it!!
